The power of apprenticeship programs to bridge the skills gap and build strong communities was on full display at the graduation celebration of Develop Carolina’s fifth cohort!

On June 20, 2024, apprentices, families, friends, mentors, alums of all our programs, employers, and community members joined our team in Greenville to celebrate the accomplishments of our apprentices.

What makes this graduation event even more special is that two apprentices flew in from out of state – one as planned and one as a total surprise, highlighting the program's reach and the passion and commitment of its participants. The opportunity to finally meet face-to-face was an added cause for celebration (that definitely ended up in karaoke while cleaning up).

And it didn’t stop there!

The sense of community extended beyond the graduating apprentices. A graduate from a previous cohort who had become a mentor offered accommodation and transportation to one of the out-of-town graduates. This heartwarming gesture exemplifies the program's dedication to creating a supportive network for all its participants.

Cohort 5’s graduation ceremony reminds us that learning and connection can transcend physical boundaries. Congratulations to the graduating apprentices—their dedication and the program's innovative approach pave the way for a future of skilled and connected professionals!
